What Can I Expect
Buy a voucher to book your seat for a thrilling helicopter ride from Leicester Airport! With a full range of durations available, there’s a flight itinerary to suit all budgets and sightseeing desires in the city of Leicester, the county and Rutland too.
All rides are operated by a Robinson R44 helicopter. With an experienced pilot at the helm, there’s space for one passenger up front in the cockpit and two more passengers behind - and you all get great views, no matter where you’re seated.
You will take off from Leicester Airport at Stoughton, just a few miles from Leicester city centre. This former RAF Leicester East site is a great location because you are on a hill, so you get incredible views as soon as you are airborne.
Flight paths for these helicopter rides vary depending on the voucher you buy and also weather conditions on the day. In all cases, there’s a lot to see from the air around the city, county and Rutland!
The shorter thrill flights stay pretty local to the Stoughton area, giving you views across to the city and beyond. The 15-minute flights cover the countryside to the east of Leicester, from Melton Mowbray to Market Harborough.
The most popular of rides (especially with sports fans) is the Leicester Skyline trip. You’ll see everything from the King Power football stadium and the Tigers rugby ground, to Grace Road cricket ground and Leicester Race Course at Oadby. The prettiest flight path has to be for the rides over Rutland. The UK's smallest county is dominated by Rutland Water Reservoir and it all looks amazing from the air!
