What Can I Expect
Enjoy looking around the Household Cavalry Museum, accompanied by an afternoon tea or lunch at the Clermont Hotel! These packages for two combine a fascinating visit with delicious food in the restaurant of a four-star hotel. What more could you ask for?
Situated between Admiralty Arch and Downing Street, you'll find the Household Cavalry. These are the working stables and home to the trusted guardians of the Monarch.
It's a real honour to be able to take a look behind the scenes of the Household Cavalry and you'll get an insight into a day in the life of a Cavalry guard.
You'll discover that the regiment is actually divided into two parts. The Household Cavalry is in full operational mode as an expert reconnaissance unit working around the world. The Household Cavalry Mounted section is the ceremonial face of the regiment that you see outside Buckingham Palace and during the Changing of the Guard.
Strolling around the Cavalry Museum, the multimedia audio guide will tell you all about the rich history of the regiment throughout the reigns of many Kings and Queens - and it is fascinating stuff.
As well as seeing exhibits, military artefacts and observing the horses and riders going about their daily business, there's a chance to find out what it's like to be dressed in the ceremonial jacket and plume hat. And believe us, it is really heavy and cumbersome!
After your visit, it’s just a five-minute walk along Whitehall and the Strand to the Clermont Hotel. This Victorian-built hotel is where you will sit down for lunch or afternoon tea.
Book your Household Cavalry Museum package through us now and get ready for a thoroughly lovely day out in the capital.
