What Can I Expect
Hop on board the helicopter simulator in Manchester! Based in a flight training school at Manchester City Airport, these sim experiences will see you at the controls of a helicopter, hovering anywhere you like in the world.
This sim is very realistic. It's actually based on a retired Robinson R22 airframe. That means the controls are genuine and from an actual helicopter. And the set-up inside the cockpit is full and complete. All that means you will feel totally immersed in the world of rotary aviation during your session.
And as for where you'll fly to in your helicopter, it's entirely up to you, as you're the captain! If you're from the local area, taking off from base at Manchester City Airport is a must. And as captain of this Robinson R22 chopper, you're responsible for takeoff and landings - the trickiest and best parts of the job!
Of course, being a simulator means that you can choose pretty much any airport in the world. And you can add weather conditions into the mix as well. What's more, if it all goes a bit awry, you can just press the reset button and attempt that hover and land manoeuvre again, no problem!
No doubt you're wondering if, as a beginner, you'll be able to handle the heli? Well, all sessions in this Manchester sim are tailored to you, with one-to-one tuition. And yes, all instructors are real pilots, either current or retired, so you're in very good hands.
We are offering 15, 30 and 60-minute sessions in this helicopter simulator at Manchester's City Airport. Anyone from the age of 10 years can have a go, with no experience necessary. And if you have dabbled in home simulators on your computer or video console, you'll be totally impressed by the graphics on this full-blown heli sim! A great value present for heli fans.
