Helicopter lessons in Leicestershire from Leicester Airport! A great choice for anyone in the East Midlands area who fancies having a trial lesson in a two or four-seater helicopter.

This family-run organisation is a one-stop training academy and commercial air operations centre. The team has been present at Leicester Airport since 2001 and the facilities created are fantastic - especially the hard stands for their extensive heli fleet and the very smart, purpose-built helipad.

Specialising in helicopter pilot training, hundreds of students have learned to fly helicopters out of Leicester Airport (also known as Stoughton or Leicester East back in the day!). The idea of these trial lessons is to give you a taste of what it's like to be in a helicopter and have a go at the controls too.

We are offering vouchers for one-to-one lessons in either a two-seater or a four-seater chopper. This Leicestershire fleet mainly comprises Cabri G2s and Robinson R44s. Both of which are renowned worldwide for being excellent training machines.

Flight durations are either 30 or 60-minutes. During your lesson you will be shown the controls and get the chance to fly the helicopter yourself. If it's your first time in one, it'll be quite an experience. They are so unlike aeroplanes. The sensations (including hovering) are really quite unique!

For budding pilots, the time spent on these trial lessons counts towards your logbook if you decide to continue learning to fly a helicopter.

If you opt for a four-seater lesson you can (at the instructor pilot's discretion) invite a guest to join you onboard as an observer, so they can fly with you.

• Under 18s must be accompanied on the airfield by an adult
• Height restrictions: minimum 4ft 6ins, maximum 6ft 2ins
• Weight restrictions Cabri 2 seater: maximum 18 stone (114 kg)
• Weight restrictions R44 4 seater: maximum 21 stone (136 kg)

Spectators

• Spectators are always welcome to watch from a designated area and watch take off and landing
• Opt for the 4-seater lesson and one observer may ride in the helicopter (at the discretion of the pilot and subject to combined weight restrictions)
