What Can I Expect

Flying lessons in Norfolk! A range of trial flights in the funky low-wing Robin 2112 two-seater sports aircraft, or the four-seater Cessna 172 out of the lovely Tibenham Airfield situated between Thetford and Norwich.

We are offering vouchers for 30 or 60-minute lessons. Both the Robin and the Cessna have side by side seating in the cockpit and each plane has dual stick controls. The big canopies give you excellent all-round vision, so you can see exactly where you're flying.

The whole area around this small and discrete airfield is a delight. Back in the day it was a bustling RAF WW2 airfield and served in the Cold War too, but these days it’s all about leisure and pleasure flying. Surrounded by farmland, this part of Norfolk is an excellent area to learn to fly, with very little controlled airspace around.

With pilot instructor Mark or one of his team, you will usually be flying from 03/21, one of the six (yes, six!) tarmac runways at Tibenham and before you know it, you'll be airborne!

Take a moment to drink in those Norfolk coast and countryside views, before you get down to the job in hand, which is learning how to fly. Yes, you will actually be flying this plane as part of your lesson - and it's great fun.

With your instructor pilot sitting beside you, you'll be shown basic skills such as flying straight and level, as well as initiating turns. Whilst the 172 is an iconic four-seater trainer, the spirited Robin plane is a rarity amongst the flying schools on our books. Spectators

• Spectators are welcome to attend and watch participants in flight with plenty of great photo opportunities

• Flight times quoted are 'chock to chock' (engines on to engines off)
