What Can I Expect

This superb deal for two gives you entry to Edinburgh Castle and a three course meal at a popular restaurant in Edinburgh's old town.

Edinburgh's mighty fortress dominates the city's skyline from its prominent position on Castle Rock at the end of the famous 'Royal Mile'. Walking up the cobbled streets with your tickets in your hand, you certainly can't miss the entrance to Edinburgh Castle, which is an impressive Scots Baronial-style gatehouse.

Dating back to the original Iron Age fort, Edinburgh Castle has seen more than its fair share of sieges and battles, births and deaths. Moving on a few hundred years from those treacherous times, the castle is the venue for the celebrated Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

There is still a British Military presence at the castle and there's an active garrison, along with several Regimental museums charting the military history of Scotland and the castle.

Edinburgh Castle is also home to the 'Honours of Scotland', the glittering Scottish Crown Jewels that were first worn by Queen Mary in 1543 and are definitely 'must-see'.

Other highlights of your visit (all of which are accessible with your tickets) include watching the famous one o'clock gun fire and Mons Meg, the huge cannon which is one of Europe's largest siege guns.

The impressive Mons Meg stands right next to St Margaret's chapel, a wee little building that dates back to 1130 and is believed to be the oldest still standing in Scotland.

And of course, no one could forget the Stone of Destiny, featured in many a coronation for successive Kings and Queens. All this and a whole lot more is included with your entry tickets to this fab fortress on the rock.

To accompany your Edinburgh Castle tickets, you have a three course meal at Rabble on Frederick Street. Serving elevated pub grub in a lovely Georgian building, you can eat before or after your visit to the castle. 

When Is It Available

Edinburgh Castle

• Edinburgh Castle is open daily from 09:30, closing at 18:00 in the summer (1st April - 30th September) and 17:00 in the winter (1st October - 31st March)
• Last admission is one hour before closing, and the castle is closed on 25th & 26th December

Rabble

• Open 6 days a week (Sunday - Friday) and menu is valid from 12:00 until 20:00

Suitable For

• Children 16 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 years or older, and will remain under their supervision and control at all times

Spectators

• This experience is not suitable for spectators

Anything Else

• It is recommended to wear flat comfortable walking shoes for going around the castle
