What Can I Expect

Step into the genteel world of Father Brown on these walking tours to discover the charming Cotswold village of Kembleford, the BBC’s filming location for Blockley, the village at the heart of this popular TV series.

As the local priest, Father Brown (brilliantly played by Mark Williams) is always helping out with murder mysteries that have the local police baffled. Along with the priest’s no-nonsense secretary Bernadette McCarthy, the pair makes a formidable duo.

On this 90-minute walking tour, you will be guided by a local expert who was involved in the production, so, as well as hearing about the history of this mill village, you will get lots of insider info, anecdotes and behind-the-scenes tales too.

A key location you'll visit is Kembleford’s St Peter & St Paul church, which stands in for St Mary’s in the popular TV show. The denouement to many of the mysteries solved by Father Brown take place in and around the church and the churchyard.

Your guide will also take you to Father Brown’s presbytery, as well as taking in the village green, the old mill and the shops and houses that will be instantly recognisable to fans of the hit show.

Kembleford is the perfect canvas for 1950s Blockley you see on screen - and is a lovely, historic Cotswold village in its own right. You can even bring your own water bottle to fill up with the local spring water that is literally on tap!

This scenic guided Father Brown walking tour is a must-do experience for Father Brown enthusiasts and lovers of British crime dramas.
