Knife Throwing Session
- Instruction on how to throw our specially designed knives
- Live instructor demonstrations of: no-spin throws (knife without rotations) and no-reloads (throwing more than one knife with one hand)
- Session last approximately one and a half hours
Axe Throwing Session
- One and a half hour axe throwing session
- Throw angels and tomahawks at targets
Ultimate Throwing Experience
- You will train on the angels, then move on to other throwing including knives, bowie knives, playing cards, hatchets, mini hatchets, tomahawks and special forces shovels
- Sessions last approximately two hours
What Can I Expect
Brilliant knife and axe throwing experiences in Bristol! Go for axe throwing on its own, knife throwing on its own, or go Ultimate and do both for an extra slice of fun at Avon Valley Farm.
This is a great venue for chucking axes and knives as it is outdoors. Located midway between Bristol and Bath off the A36 at Keynsham, it's also really easy to get to from all over Bristol and the South West.
If you've never chucked an axe before (and we're assuming you haven't), there's actually quite a knack to it. It's all about how you pick up, handle and release the axe, along with your stance. The instructors will demonstrate the best throwing technique and then it's over to you to give it a go.
Don't be surprised if your first couple of goes literally fall flat. It takes a bit of practice to get the axe nicely wedged into the wood. And when you hear that 'thud' of metal in wood, it's really, really satisfying.
Knife throwing will see you being taught how to throw a variety of knives, just like a proper stage performer. You might even be shown some fancy trick shots (which are very impressive!) and be given some challenges to try too.
Run by passionate outdoor activity instructors, this centre is renowned for its friendly welcome and fun approach (but with a keen eye on safety of course). They've even won several local Bristol and Bath area tourism accolades for their outdoor experiences, so why not give knife or axe throwing at Bristol's award-winning venue a go?

Suitable For
- Minimum age for axe throwing is 16 years (18 years for the ultimate throwing and knife throwing experience)
- 16 - 17 year old's must be accompanied by a participating or spectating adult
- Not suitable if you have a shoulder injury

Anything Else
- Suitable outdoor clothing and footwear should be worn (no open toed shoes, sandals or flipflops)
- Please note: Knife throwing, axe throwing and ultimate throwing sessions do not run at the same time
