What Can I Expect
Brilliant axe throwing in Bristol! A corner of the Avon Valley Farm has been reserved just for these outdoor activities. Go for axe throwing on its own, or add in knife throwing for an extra slice of fun.
This is a great venue for axe throwing. Located midway between Bristol and Bath off the A36 at Keynsham, it's easy to get to from all over Bristol and the South West. There's lots going on here and this operator offers a range of activities that'll get you taking aim, firing and lobbing all sorts of things!
If you've never chucked an axe before (and we're assuming you haven't), there's actually quite a knack to it. It's all about how you pick up, handle and release the axe, along with your stance. The instructors will demonstrate the best throwing technique and then it's over to you to give it a go.
Don't be surprised if your first couple of goes literally fall flat. It takes a bit of practice to get the axe nicely wedged into the wood. And when you hear that 'thud' of metal in wood, it's really, really satisfying.
It's always best to start small, so on these axe throwing sessions you'll be using the mini Hawks (also known as Angels) to begin with, before progressing to the very impressive looking Tomahawk axes.
The Ultimate voucher we are offering at this Bristol centre gives you the full throwing experience with multiple tools. You'll learn how to throw knives just like a proper stage performer and you might even be shown some fancy trick shots and be given some challenges to try too.
Run by outdoor enthusiasts, this centre is renowned for its friendly welcome and fun approach (but with a keen eye on safety of course). They've even won several local Bristol and Bath area tourism awards for their outdoor experiences, so why not give axe throwing at Bristol's award-winning venue a go?
