What's Included
- Enjoy a scenic 2-hour guided canoe or kayak trip along the River Avon
- Welcome, introduction and full safety briefing
- All equipment is provided: kayaks, canoes, paddles and buoyancy aids
- Canoe : Each canoe can accommodate two people, or one adult and two children, or two adults and one small child
- Kayak : Each kayak accommodates one person
- Your experienced guide will assist you on the water and share insights about the river
- Spot local wildlife such as kingfishers, herons, dragonflies and even otters
- Total experience time is approximately 2 hours
- You may form part of a group with other participants
- A minimum of two vouchers must be purchased for the canoe river trip
What Can I Expect
Go kayaking or canoeing near Bristol on the idyllic River Avon! Hidden in the lovely Avon Valley just beyond Keynsham, these two-hour, guided trips are a great way to explore the countryside, spot wildlife and have a fun paddle.
The activity company base is on a farm estate, boasting direct access to the River Avon. Kit includes easy-to-paddle, sit-on-top kayaks or canoes with room for two adults (or a combination of adults and children). Safety gear is included and you can hire wetsuits on the day.
Your instructor host will lead these trips out on the river. They are all really knowledgeable about the local Avon Valley area and can spot animals and birds a mile off, so don’t be surprised if you see the likes of Kingfishers, Deer and Otters as you paddle!
The meandering river is a superb choice for a paddle out as it is serene and quiet. Your experience is rather like a moving safari as you follow the Avon - and much more scenic than manmade water courses, or being on an inland lake, as there's such a lot to see.
The guided kayak trips are suitable from 12 years old, whilst the guided canoe trips are open to anyone over the age of 10 years. Easily accessible from Bristol, we think these canoeing and kayaking experiences on the River Avon are a great pick for a family adventure, with no paddle experience needed!

Suitable For

- You must be able to swim a minimum of 25 metres
- Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult on the water

Anything Else
- It is advised to wear suitable footwear such as wetsuit boots, water shoes or old trainers
- Wetsuits can be hired for £5 per person, payable on the day
- Avon Valley Farm sell hot and cold drink at their burger van which can be purchased on the day
