What Can I Expect
Mini racers get ready to go on a brilliant junior race car experience! These racing car sessions give 10-17 year olds the chance to drive one, two or three fast cars. What's more, we've got venues around the UK, so you won't have to drive far for your little darlings to have some junior track day fun.
Whilst there's no actual head-to-head racing on these junior sessions, the cars all boast serious racing pedigree, with a Martini Porsche Boxster, a Subaru Impreza and a Mitsubishi Eclipse in the line-up.
The Porsche has a fancy paint job, racing driver seats and harnesses with upgraded bits and bobs all over the car. As if the Boxster wasn't nippy enough already, this 'S' version with iconic Martini race styling and 3.4l engine make it a veritable pocket rocket and kids just love it.
The Subaru STi WRX is quite simply a legend. The WRX has won six World Rally Championships and no less than 46 individual race wins. It's an awesome car and that flat four 'Boxer' engine certainly makes all the right noises.
The Mitsubishi Eclipse - you can't miss this car! In gleaming Kawasaki Green, this Eclipse is just like Brian O'Connor's 1995 Mitsu from the Fast and the Furious film. O'Connor had trouble keeping this racer in line, so let's see how the youngsters get on in this mean green racing machine.
The only requirements for these junior race car days are that miniature motorists are 10-17 years old and at least 4ft 5" tall for the pedals. No previous driving experience is necessary, as the cars are all dual-controlled with engine kill switches, so the instructor remains in control of the car at all times.
That's not to say the teens won't be driving the car themselves. Most children soon get the hang of it and start motoring round the track faster than you can say 'well done darling'. That leaves you to watch proudly, as they whizz right past, a grin akin to that of a Cheshire cat on their faces. That's the sort of brilliant reaction a junior race car day gets!
