What Can I Expect

Young aviators - these junior flying lessons are just for you! Get your wings from as young as eight years old on these first flight experiences specifically for youngsters and teens.

Our vouchers give budding young pilots a 30-minute flying lesson in a two-seater aircraft, with a range of departure airfields and aerodromes around the UK, so there’s bound to be a location near you offering these fantastic experiences for under 18s.

Each flight will be treated as a first lesson, which is what makes it all so exciting for the young would-be pilots. They will be co-pilot for the flight, with an expert instructor pilot taking them up.

At some point during the flight, the pilot will hand over the controls to the junior aviator. This is the moment the kids absolutely love. They will actually be flying the plane, which is totally awesome.

And as proud parents and family, you’ll be welcome to be at the clubhouse or flying school to watch the action from taxiing and take off, to when they step out of the cockpit at the end of their epic trial flight - and of course, you are welcome to take pictures!

Suitable For

• Minimum ages range between 8-14 (see details below)
• Under 18s must be accompanied on the airfield by an adult
• Height restrictions: minimum 4ft 6ins, maximum 6ft 4ins
• Maximum weight of 14 stone
• Please bring two forms of identity including a photo id, e.g. a passport
• Flight lessons are all at Civil Aviation Authority approved clubs

When Is It Available

• Weekends and weekdays throughout the year, depending on your chosen venue
• Flights are weather dependent and subject to availability
• Although time slots are allocated please be aware that aircraft lessons are subject to a number of factors which may potentially cause delay to your scheduled time. Whilst every effort will be made to help keep you on time we ask for a degree of latitude owing to the nature of flying, air traffic delays and weather considerations

Spectators

• Friends and family are welcome to come and watch the take off and landing
• Flight schools offer different levels of facilities, however most have a clubhouse
• Most venues have toilets, viewing areas and refreshments

• Perthshire Perth Airport: Certificate provided.  Photos can be taken for you if you bring your own camera/phone.  Hangar tours may also be available subject to staffing.  The hangar houses in excess of 80 aircraft
