What Can I Expects
Shiver me timbers it's the Dockyard Gin Tour! Head to Copper Rivet Distillery at Chatham's historic dockyard for an hour all about the gins. See where and how the gin is made at this Kentish producer.
The 1873-heritage Chatham Dry ‘Dockyard Gin' is the leading gin produced by the Russell family at their distillery. Steeped in history, this tipple is a contemporary take on traditional naval gins. It's all about the citrus hints and spicy aromatic flavours, which steer this gin into unexpected waters!
Seeing how this and other gins are made is truly fascinating. Your expert host will show you the complete process and how the family's ethos of using locally-sourced ingredients means a strawberry gin is actually a Kentish strawberry gin.
As well as hearing about what they do, you'll be given an insight into the amazing maritime history of Chatham dockyard that inspired the company's premium gin. The distillery building is one of the former Victorian brick pump houses and is an impressive sight - and a great location for distilling!
Having toured the distillery, asked all your questions and learnt an awful lot about Dockyard Gins, it's time to take the taste test. Head to the Pumproom bar to enjoy your complimentary drink. It's sure to be gin-based and it may well be a classic G&T that we know you'll love.
Dockyard gin tours take place at the Copper Rivet Distillery on weekends and weekdays throughout the year. You will be part of a small group touring the premises, with one of the distilling team as you knowledgeable host and guide.
