What Can I Expects

Discover the underwater world of freediving on these half-day introduction to freediving experiences in the heart of Somerset!

Taking place in a privately-hired, heated swimming pool near Radstock, all the gear you need to freedive (such as wetsuits and fins) is included - just bring along your swimmers and your sense of adventure.

Freediving is essentially using your lungs and one single breath to dive underwater. It’s all about mastering breathing techniques, safely practising breath-holding and how to move underwater in safety. You might even be able to blow the perfect bubble ring!

These introductory sessions are ideal for those who are curious about freediving and absolutely no previous experience is necessary. They often appeal to those who enjoy wild swimming, want to connect with their body's natural abilities underwater, or are just keen to give the sport a go.

You will be in the very safe hands of renowned freediver, coach and author Emma Farrell and her team, who are all highly experienced, having freedived all over the world.

Getting a first taste of freediving freedom in the safety and comfort of a pool is the best introduction to the sensations and techniques of freediving, so if you’ve always wanted to have a go, these sessions in Somerset are for you. We also offer RAID recognised one and two-day freedive courses with the same school.

When Is It Available

• Selected Sundays throughout the year
• Sessions start at 10:00 finishing at 13:30
• Participants should arrive at 09:30

Suitable For

• Participants must be over 12 years old and be able to swim
• A good general level of fitness is required
• Participants respiratory and circulatory systems must be in good health
• A medical statement must be completed prior to participating

• Under 18s must be accompanied onsite by an adult
