What Can I Expect

Bluebell photography workshops to capture one of nature's greatest flowering moments! The first bluebells peeking out of the earth in early spring is like the first whisper of summer. Nature photographers adore this time of year.

These workshops are hosted by expert photographer Alan Ranger. He is a fully-qualified tutor, enjoying all aspects of photography, specialising in nature and specifically woodland shoots.

We are offering four-hour and full-day location-based workshops to learn how to capture the beauty of bluebells. The woodland, near Henley in Arden, is kept secret. That's because it's private managed woodlands and with no public access, so those little blue flowers grow denser and thicker.

Alan is incredibly lucky to have found this woodland. When in full bloom, it's a veritable carpet of bluebells - and nothing gets trampled on. It really is a very special place and it'll give you the feels just being there!

The sunrise workshop is all about capturing those first shards of light as they break through the trees. It gives a rather lovely ethereal feel to your photos, with no photoshopping required! The mid-morning shoot makes the most of daylight, with generally warmer hues.

You'll be encouraged by Alan to discover and express your own style when it comes to capturing these stunning bluebells on camera. He will coach and tutor you through all aspects, from white balance and exposure, to depth of field and composition. You'll cover landscape and macro and how using a tripod gets the best results.

By the end of your workshop, you will have a greater understanding of bluebell photography and some wonderful images of bluebells on your camera's memory card!
