What Can I Expect
The magical mystery Beatles London tour around Marylebone and St John's Wood is ready for the off! A couple of hours on foot around the capital, to see all the places the Beatles influenced and were influenced by - including the iconic Abbey Road zebra crossing. It's a great day out for any fan of the Fab Four.
Of course, everyone knows the group was formed in Liverpool (and we have a guided day trip to explore the Beatles' Liverpool too), but as fame and fortune beckoned, Paul, Ringo, John and George moved to London. These tours lift the lid on their London, from when they released their first LP Please Please Me in 1963 to Let It Be, their final record as a band in 1970.
There is a lot of Beatles history around these areas of the capital. You'll pass Paul McCartney's St John's Wood home, which he bought back in 1963 and still owns today. Then there's Marylebone Station, the location for the famous opening sequences for the film A Hard Day's Night.
Lesser-known locations are also on the tour itinerary, such as the Marylebone basement flat, which was lived in through the years by John and Yoko, Ringo Starr and even Jimi Hendrix. It's also where Paul originally recorded Eleanor Rigby. If you look closely, the building has now been honoured with a blue heritage plaque.
A clear highlight of this London Beatles tour is Abbey Road. Location of the famous Abbey recording studios, where the Love Me Do hitmakers recorded their album Abbey Road (with that famous pedestrian crossing cover) and many more of their hit records too.
Your Beatles London tour comes to a close at Abbey Road. Having learnt loads about the lives, works and loves of the Fab 4 in London, you might want to pop back into the Beatles store on Baker Street (where your tour started). Your host will sort you out with an exclusive in-store discount, so you can purchase all the Beatles memorabilia you like at a great price!
