Gearing up for the 2010 Formula 1 season
The teams have been announced, the 2010 drivers and the cars have been presented to the media, the testing has been done and now it’s time to put feet to the metal at the first Grand Prix meet of the 2010 Formula 1 season with the first race in Bahrain on the 14th March.
Of course, our eyes will be firmly on the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team with Brits Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button joining hands (or should that be steering wheels) driving for the same team.
Will Jenson be able to follow up his 2009 overall championship best driver win with another title this year? Will Lewis Hamilton manage to keep hold of his Pussycat Doll girlfriend or will ‘work pressures and distance’ tear them apart again…oh, sorry you’re not really interested in our celeb tittle tattle are you? This is the serious business of F1.
So moving on, it’s set to be an interesting Formula One season with the withdrawal of BMW and Toyota. This means we have three new teams onboard, namely Hispania Racing a Spanish team lead by former driver Adrian Campos, Virgin Racing hoping to benefit from the previous team ownership skills of Nick Wirth and John Booth and US F1 Team which is headed up by former Williams employee Peter Windsor and Ken Anderson.
Of course, watching the F1 on telly is good as it gives you the overview of the race, but nothing beats actually being at the track to take in the atmosphere and the sheer noise. Actually, there is something better than that – getting to drive a Formula One car yourself and you can do just that at the famous Three Sisters circuit in Lancashire! It costs a bomb, but if you can get the family and friends to club together for that extra special treat, it’ll be the best weekend of their life!
